Fire-resistant floors
LEWIS Metal Deck creates a floor construction that meets fire resistance requirements. A fire resistance of 60 to 120 minutes can be realised without a problem. LEWIS Metal Deck is also often applied for fire-resistant floors in lightweight steel constructions (steel framing systems).

LEWIS fire-resistant compartment floors
LEWIS Metal Deck converts an existing wooden floor into a fire-resistant compartment floor and furthermore meets the requirements for sound insulation.
LEWIS fire-resistant composite structural floors
In addition to the best known application of LEWIS Metal Deck on (existing) wooden beam layers with a centre-to-centre distance of 400 to 900 mm, spans with centre-to-centre distances up to 2500 mm can also be realised. This application is mainly found in lightweight steel constructions.
In order to meet a fire resistance of 60 to 120 minutes with these larger spans, additional reinforcement in the LEWIS floor is sometimes required.
